Robert Wildman

Robert Wildman is Associate Professor and Director of the BFA Arts Management program at Long Island University (LIU Post), where he leads academic and programmatic initiatives in arts administration. He previously served as Founding Director of the MFA program in Performing Arts Management at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), School of Design and Production.

Robert Wildman's research and professional interests center on arts management, theatre administration, and leadership development in the performing arts. His work bridges academic training with real-world practice, emphasizing the importance of professional standards, equity contracts, and interdisciplinary collaboration between students and professional artists. He is deeply involved in shaping curricula for future arts leaders through residency programs and national forums.

His contributions to arts education are reflected in his long-term teaching roles at Goucher College’s MAAA program and the Yale School of Drama, as well as his leadership in national discussions on training pathways for managing directors, general managers, and marketing professionals in theatre. He has led forums on the future of arts leadership and continues to advocate for strong educational foundations in arts administration.

Robert Wildman has been actively involved in professional service and grant-making. He currently serves as treasurer and board member of the Association of Arts Administration Educators (AAAE) and has held prior board roles with the North Carolina Theatre Conference, The Adam Foundation, and the Arts Council of Greater New Haven.
