Mohammed Rafiq is a Professor of Marketing at the University of Roehampton Business School. Previously, he served as Reader in Retailing and Marketing and Academic Director of MSc Programmes at Loughborough University's School of Business and Economics. His academic journey includes roles at Nottingham Trent University and Warwick Business School. He holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Essex, an MBA and PhD from the University of Bradford.
His research focuses on e-tailing, brand loyalty, new product development (NPD), internal marketing, and retail marketing. Notable interests include consumer experience of town centres, ambidextrous organizational culture, and structural equation modeling. He co-edited a Special Issue on internal marketing in the European Journal of Marketing and served as Co-Editor of the European Journal of Innovation Management (2006–2010).

Teaching expertise spans retail location strategies, international retailing, visual merchandising, and retail buying. He is a member of the Editorial Review Board of the European Journal of Innovation Management and actively participates in academic workshops on local business growth.
