Mitchell Adams is a Senior Lecturer in Law at Swinburne Law School, part of the School of Business, Law and Entrepreneurship at Swinburne University of Technology. He specializes in intellectual property law, legal technology, and legal design, with a focus on trademark law, designs law, and entertainment law. He earned a PhD in Law, a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry), and a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from Monash University, and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the Australian National University.
His research explores the intersection of law and technology, including generative AI's role in legal practice, trademark registration systems, and legal protection of fictional characters. He has directed the Legal Tech and Design Clinics at Swinburne and secured over $500,000 in grants from organizations like IP Australia and the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. Notably, he produced 40 Floors Up, Australia's only law-themed board game.
