Miroslava Marinova

Dr. Miroslava Marinova is a Senior Lecturer in Commercial Law at the University of East London's Royal Docks School of Business and Law, Department of Law & Criminology. She specializes in Competition Law, Commercial Law, Energy Regulation, and EU Law with a focus on antitrust and digital markets. Prior to joining UEL in 2021, she worked at Ofgem’s Enforcement team. Her research emphasizes EU competition policy, excessive pricing, and the ‘as efficient competitor’ test.

Teaching: Module leader for International Competition Law and Intellectual Property Law, with additional roles in Tort Law and EU Law. She also contributes to the EU’s Training of National Judges Programme.

Research Interests: Her work explores evolving competition law challenges in digital markets, including Google’s antitrust case implications, NFT regulation in the metaverse, and the CMA’s approach to AI-driven price discrimination. She critiques EU guideline drafts and judicial precedents like the Intel and Post Danmark II cases.

Publications: Over 30 peer-reviewed articles, including works in World Competition, European Competition Journal, and Concurrences Review. Notable contributions include analyses of the CMA v Pfizer/Flynn case and the UK’s digital market regulation framework.

Awards: Nominated for the Antitrust Writing Awards 2019 for her World Competition paper.
