Alexandra Mikroulea is a Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Athens' Law School. She holds a PhD from the University of Munich (1991–1994) and has served as a Special Expert and Member of the Hellenic Competition Commission (1997–2003). Her academic career includes visiting roles at institutions like UPenn, NYU, and the Max Planck Institute. She specializes in Competition Law, Banking Law, and Consumer Protection Law, with extensive contributions to legal reform and policy advisory roles at national and EU levels. She co-founded the law firm Mikroulea-Staikouras & Associates.
Her research focuses on antitrust enforcement, digital economy regulation, and financial sector legal frameworks. Key projects include advising the EU on collective redress mechanisms and contributing to Hellenic Competition Commission merger remedies. She has authored books such as Scope of Managers’ Duties and Liability during the financial crisis (2013) and published widely in peer-reviewed journals.
Professional memberships include ASCOLA (Academic Society for Competition Law) and FIDE (Federation International de Droit Européen). She has trained judges on competition and banking law and actively participates in international legal conferences. Her work bridges academic research with practical legal policy, emphasizing regulatory transparency and market fairness.
