Milton S. F. Curry is a Professor of Architecture and Senior Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives and Engagement at Cornell University's College of Architecture, Art, and Planning (AAP). He previously served as Dean at the University of Southern California School of Architecture (2017–2022) and Associate Dean at the University of Michigan Taubman College (2010–2017). An alumnus of Cornell, he earned his Bachelor of Architecture in 1988 and returned as faculty from 1995 to 2010 before his current appointment.

Curry's research focuses on the intersections of architecture, race, urbanism, and cultural theory. He is a leading voice in architecture race theory and Black studies in spatial practice. His work critically examines urban redevelopment, public housing, and the role of race and class in shaping the American city. He explores the legacy of Black aesthetics in architecture, notably through scholarship on Paul R. Williams. His recent initiatives include the Black Cities of Americas Lab, which investigates environmental justice, reparations, and post-capitalist urbanism in inner cities.
The selected publications reflect a consistent intellectual trajectory centered on race, urban politics, and architectural theory. Themes include sovereignty, populism, post-capitalism, and the production of racialized space. His editorial leadership with CriticalProductive and Appendx underscores his commitment to critical discourse in architecture.
Curry has secured significant research funding, including:
- Co-Principal Investigator, A.W. Mellon Foundation Grant ($600,000) for the USC Architecture Paul R. Williams Archive Initiative
- Principal Investigator, Ford Foundation Grant ($100,000) supporting the same initiative

He currently serves on the Museum of Modern Art New York Board of Trustees Architecture and Design Acquisitions Committee and the Abode Communities Board of Directors and Finance Committee. He is also the principal of Milton Curry ProjectStudio design consultancy and founding editor of CriticalProductive, distributed by MIT Press. His creative work includes speculative urban projects such as Orbit ColiseumCity Oakland and DefJam Cafe and Studios.
