John F. Currie is a Professor of Physics at Georgetown University, where he leads research in health microsystems and device physics. He holds a B.Sc. from the University of Toronto and a Ph.D. from Cornell University, with postdoctoral training at MIT. His work focuses on transdermal biosensors, thin-film materials, and solid-state technologies for medical applications. Currie has supervised over 30 Ph.D./M.Sc. students and pioneered DARPA-funded projects developing non-invasive biomonitoring devices. His lab employs advanced fabrication techniques like sputtering and electrochemical deposition, supported by SEM/TEM/AFM characterization.
