Dr. Mukti M. Rana is a Professor of Engineering at Delaware State University (DSU), affiliated with the Division of Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Sciences and the Optical Science Center for Applied Research (OSCAR). He holds a B.Sc. from Khulna University of Engineering, and M.S. and Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Arlington in Electrical Engineering. His research focuses on advanced materials for infrared detectors, 2D/3D materials, and MEMS devices. He has secured over $14M in grants and holds four US patents. Dr. Rana has mentored numerous students and received awards including NASA's Faculty Mentor of the Year (2019) and DSU's Excellence in Research (2016, 2021).

Research Interests: Dr. Rana's work emphasizes materials for uncooled infrared detectors, ferroelectric/pyroelectric materials, 2D materials integration, and MEMS device design. His recent studies explore Ge-Si-Sn-O alloys and layered TMDCs for infrared sensing applications.
Grants & Funding: Active grants include NASA's $300K antireflection coatings project and ONR's $799K MEANS grant. Prior funding includes NSF, AFOSR, and DoD projects totaling over $14M as PI.
