Milkah Wanjohi is a Research Associate in Behavioural Interventions (Sub-Saharan Africa) at Loughborough University, affiliated with the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine. She is also a PhD fellow at Utrecht University, Netherlands. Previously, she spent over 10 years at the African Population and Health Research Centre, coordinating research on maternal, child, and adolescent nutrition, diet-related non-communicable diseases, and food systems in Kenya and East Africa.
Education: BSc, MSc (Kenyatta University, Kenya, 2019); current PhD candidate at Utrecht University. Her research focuses on improving health outcomes through behavioral interventions and addressing dietary challenges in Sub-Saharan Africa. Collaborates with Professors Paula Griffiths and Lauren Sherar at Loughborough.
Research interests include public health strategies for nutrition improvement, food system dynamics, and prevention of diet-related diseases. Engaged with interdisciplinary teams to design and evaluate interventions targeting maternal, child, and adolescent populations.
Labs/Teams: Active in the Lifestyle for Health and Wellbeing research group and the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine.
