Dr. Hibbah Araba Osei-Kwasi is a Senior Lecturer in Nutrition & Public Health at Loughborough University and serves as the University International Special Envoy to Sub-Saharan Africa. Her research focuses on dietary behaviors, cultural and socio-emotional dimensions of cooking, and obesity prevention in Ghanaian and African migrant populations.

Hibbah’s research explores how cultural norms, emotional associations, and social contexts influence dietary practices. She emphasizes the need for culturally tailored interventions to address obesity and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in migrant communities. Her work also examines food environments in urban African settings and digital health solutions for diabetes management.
Recent publications highlight her expertise in nutrition transition, sustainable diets, and community readiness models. Her studies utilize participatory methods like photovoice to uncover barriers to healthy eating and inform policy.
