Dr Rebecca Pradeilles is a Visiting Fellow in Global Public Health Nutrition at Loughborough University’s School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences (SSEHS). She holds a PhD in Public Health Nutrition from Loughborough University (2015) and advanced training in Nutrition, Epidemiology, and Public Health. Her research focuses on dietary transitions, food security, and malnutrition in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), particularly among vulnerable populations like mothers, infants, and urban slum dwellers. She has extensive experience in participatory methodologies (e.g., Photovoice) and policy-relevant interventions.
Key affiliations include UMR MoISA (IRD, France) and roles at institutions like LSHTM and the University of Sheffield. Her work spans projects in South Africa, Pakistan, Peru, Ghana, Kenya, and Ethiopia, addressing topics such as maternal agricultural work impacts, urban food environments, and double burden malnutrition. She led the PERUSANO study on infant nutrition in Peru and contributed to UKRI-funded global health initiatives like STAMINA during the pandemic.
Research interests emphasize the interplay between socio-economic factors, food systems, and health outcomes, with a focus on innovative interventions and policy coherence. Her contributions bridge academic research and actionable solutions for global nutrition challenges.
