Mikael Swayze is a Sessional Instructor and Director of Academic Human Resource Services at the Faculty of Arts & Science, University of Toronto, with a career spanning over 30 years in strategic human resources and labour relations. He teaches at the Centre for Industrial Relations and Human Resources (MIRHR) and serves on the Advisory Board of the Centre for Labour-Management Relations at Toronto Metropolitan University.

- Undergraduate in Economics, McGill University
His expertise lies in university governance, collective agreement negotiations, and labour relations strategy, informed by his dual academic background in law and political science. He has advised the University of Central Asia on governance structures and contributed to national academic and union organizations like the Canadian Association of University Teachers and Canadian Union of Public Employees.
