Miho Sato is an Associate Professor at Nagasaki University, specializing in Health Systems, Gender, and Reproductive Health. Her work bridges anthropology and public health with a focus on human resources for health.

Her research spans qualitative studies on healthcare integration in Ethiopia and community-led health planning in Tanzania. She has led JICA projects in Tanzania, Syria, Zambia, and Bangladesh, addressing maternal health, refugee services, and health system capacity-building.
Recent publications highlight her expertise in global health equity, with studies on adolescent nutrition in Laos, contraceptive access in Benin, and technological interventions in Uganda. Her methodological approach combines anthropological frameworks with implementation research to address systemic health challenges.
At Nagasaki University, she coordinates international field trips for MPH students and teaches gender perspectives in reproductive health, emphasizing practical learning and cross-country comparisons.
