Michele Hansen is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the UWA Medical School, affiliated with the UWA Centre for Child Health Research and The Kids Research Institute Australia. Her research focuses on epidemiological studies related to assisted reproductive technologies, cerebral palsy, and birth defects. She employs population-based data linkage methodologies to investigate health outcomes in maternal and child populations.

- Epidemiology of neurodevelopmental disorders
- Risk factors in assisted reproductive technology pregnancies
- Pharmacological exposure during pregnancy
- Public health interventions for birth defect prevention
Grants & Projects
Recent projects include:
- Fertility treatment and cerebral palsy: has the association changed in Australia? (Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Foundation, 2022–2024)
- Recent changes in IVF clinical practice: data linkage to investigate their impact on fetal growth and birth defects (NHMRC, 2015–2019)
Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to good health and well-being (SDG 3) and quality education (SDG 4).
