Joanne Given

Dr Joanne Given is a Research Fellow at the School of Nursing and Paramedic Science, Ulster University, affiliated with the Institute of Nursing and Health Research. Her work focuses on epidemiological studies of congenital anomalies, maternal and child health outcomes, and healthcare data linkage. She contributes to international projects such as EUROlinkCAT and Euromedicat, investigating the impact of environmental and medical factors on pregnancy and child health.

Her research explores the association between congenital anomalies and long-term morbidity, surgical intervention outcomes, and medication safety during pregnancy. Dr. Given’s studies utilize population-based data to evaluate health policies and improve understanding of risk factors for conditions like cerebral palsy, neural tube defects, and cardiovascular anomalies.
