معرفی
Michael Newsome is a DPhil student at the University of Oxford's Institute of Biomedical Engineering, supervised by Professors Constantin Coussios, Robert Carlisle, and Stephen Payne. His research focuses on optimizing drug delivery systems using cell culture and mathematical modeling, examining drug uptake, cell death, and heat application impacts. He concurrently serves as a retained lecturer in Engineering Science at Worcester College, delivering tutorials in Mathematics and Structures, and teaches at Somerville and Harris Manchester colleges.
Before his DPhil, Newsome completed an MEng degree at the University of Oxford with a final-year project on transport phenomena in deforming porous media under Prof. Chris MacMinn. He also held industrial placements at Atkins PLC and Rolls-Royce.
Research interests include biomedical engineering, mathematical modeling of fluid dynamics, and drug delivery system optimization. His current project aims to enhance tumor-targeted drug delivery through device-enhanced systems. He collaborates with the Drug & Vaccine Delivery and Cerebral Haemodynamics Groups.
