معرفی
Stephen Payne is a Full Professor at the Institute of Applied Mechanics, National Taiwan University, and a Visiting Professor at the University of Oxford. He holds a DPhil from the University of Oxford (2001) and has held academic roles including Departmental Lecturer (2003), University Lecturer (2006), Associate Professor (2015), and Full Professor (2018) at Oxford. His research focuses on biomedical engineering, particularly cerebral blood flow and metabolism, with interdisciplinary collaborations worldwide. Key projects include modeling microthrombi effects, autoregulation dynamics, and whole-brain cerebral blood flow. He leads the INSIST project on thrombectomy modeling and chairs the Cerebral Autoregulation Research Network (CARNet).
Education: MEng and DPhil from the University of Oxford. Awards: Yushan Scholarship (2021–2024). Publications: Over 100 journal articles and 3 books, including Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism (2017) and Physiology for Engineers (2016). Supervised 24 PhD students and organized major conferences like the 2018 Royal Society meeting on cerebral blood flow control.
Research interests include stroke treatment optimization, drug delivery to small airways, and computational modeling of cerebral edema and osmotherapy. Current work emphasizes microvascular interactions, autoregulation physiology, and in silico trials for stroke therapies. Editor-in-Chief roles and leadership in interdisciplinary initiatives highlight his impact in biomedical engineering.
