Abigail Collins is a DPhil Student at the University of Oxford, affiliated with the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Magdalen College. Her research bridges biomedical engineering and cancer therapy, focusing on device-enhanced immuno-oncology using ultrasound and sonosensitive nanoparticles.
- Education
- MEng in Biomedical Engineering (First Class Honours), Imperial College London
- DPhil (ongoing) at the University of Oxford
Her research explores low-intensity focused ultrasound physics, protein-based nanoparticles for acoustic cavitation, and immunotherapy optimization for solid tumours. She aims to non-invasively stimulate the innate immune system to target cancer and metastases.
Scientific Awards
- Oxford-Bellhouse Graduate Scholarship
- President’s Undergraduate Scholarship
- IET Great Exhibition Scholarship
Abigail collaborates with the BUBBL research group and works with Prof. Constantin Coussios, Prof. Robert Carlisle, and Dr. Joanna Hester. She is also engaged in science communication with the Royal Institution of Great Britain.
