Michael Matthys is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Theatre at the University of South Dakota. A veteran AEA actor with nearly three decades of experience, he has worked at institutions like the Guthrie Theater and spent over 25 years in Los Angeles. His expertise spans Seven Pillars Acting, Viewpoints, and Linklater Voice techniques.

- BA, Theatre Arts – Buffalo State College (1988)
Teaching interests include Viewpoints, Meisner, and Linklater voice training, while his research focuses on the application of Viewpoints in actor training and the connection between natural voice (Linklater) and performance. Recent presentations highlight breath techniques and auditioning strategies.
