Michael Dillon is a Lecturer in Infection and Immunity at the Peninsula Medical School within the Faculty of Health at the University of Plymouth. He holds multiple leadership roles including Deputy Programme Lead for the MSc Physician Associate programme, BMBS Immunology Discipline Lead, and Module Lead for GH711: Introduction to Global Health. His teaching spans undergraduate medicine, physician associate programs, and global health courses.
Michael's research focuses on infectious disease diagnostics, particularly in resource-poor settings, and global public health projects addressing disease spread. He emphasizes inclusivity in both education and healthcare access, serving as Chair of the Faculty of Health Athena Swan Self-Assessment Team and Co-Chair of the University's LGBT+ Staff Network.
With over 10 years of experience, his expertise includes microbiology, tropical diseases, and antibody development. He actively supervises student projects and contributes to academic governance through tutoring and exam coordination across the Faculty of Health.
