Michael Barcomb is an Assistant Professor at Durham University's School of Modern Languages and Cultures. His academic work bridges applied linguistics and educational technology, focusing on innovative language teaching methodologies and equitable access to education.

Research interests emphasize computer-assisted language learning (CALL), pronunciation instruction, and AI integration in higher education. He has pioneered university-wide GenAI policy initiatives and founded MAIS Learning, an interactive English program for Japanese youth.
Supervision: Currently supervising PhD candidate Hna Frhan Alanzi on doctoral research.
