Dr. Walcir Cardoso is a Professor of Applied Linguistics in the Department of Education at Concordia University. He specializes in second language phonology and computer-assisted language learning, with a focus on pronunciation pedagogy in traditional and digital environments. His research integrates theoretical and applied linguistics, supported by grants from SSHRC, NSERC, and the Réseau de bio-imagerie du Québec (RBIQ). He serves as President of the Canadian Modern Language Review/La Revue canadienne des langues vivantes.

Collaborations span institutions like the Centre for the Study of Learning and Performance and Université du Québec à Montréal.
