Michael Amess is an Assistant Professor of Secondary Teacher Education at the School of Education, University of Birmingham, where he serves as the lead tutor for the PGCE Secondary English course. He holds a PhD in progress (part-time) focused on sociological analyses of schooling and poverty, supervised by Professor Deborah Youdell and Dr. Ian McGimpsey.
