Debbie Haynes is a Senior Lecturer and Subject Leader for Secondary English on Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programmes at the University of Wolverhampton, affiliated with the School of Education & Psychology in the Faculty of Education, Health & Wellbeing. With over three decades of experience in secondary education, she specializes in teacher training, mentoring, and curriculum development.

Her research focuses on teacher education and professional identity, Secondary English teaching, assessment in English, and mentoring student teachers, with particular emphasis on using moving image media to enhance critical reading skills. She also contributes to national literacy initiatives.
Debbie Haynes has been recognized with:

She is actively involved in professional organizations such as the National Association for the Teaching of English (NATE), the National Association of Academies for Executive Education (NAAE), and the Higher Education Academy (HEA).
