Mert R. Sabuncu is a Professor at Cornell University, affiliated with the College of Engineering's School of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the School of Biomedical Engineering. He joined Cornell in 2017 as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Professor in 2023. His research focuses on biomedical image analysis, machine learning in biomedicine, and probabilistic modeling of biological data, with applications in neurology, neuroscience, and healthcare technology. Sabuncu holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University (2006) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL).
