Dr. Meredith Gresham is a Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CHeBA). Her work focuses on improving post-diagnostic support for people with dementia, caregiver well-being, and optimizing residential and community care systems. She coordinates the international COGNISANCE Project, which develops practical toolkits for dementia patients, care partners, and healthcare providers to enhance quality of life and functional support post-diagnosis.
Dr. Gresham holds a PhD from the University of Sydney, alongside a Diploma in Arts (Music) and a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from Cumberland College (now part of UNSW). Her career spans over three decades, with pioneering contributions to dementia caregiver training programs, respite care models, and evidence-based interventions in aged care.
Key research themes include post-diagnostic care pathways, cultural barriers in dementia support, and technology-assisted solutions for caregivers. Her work bridges policy, practice, and patient needs, emphasizing co-design with affected communities. Projects such as the 'Going to Stay at Home' program and the DesignSmart environment rating tool highlight her focus on practical, scalable solutions.
