Dr. Moyra Mortby is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Psychology, Faculty of Science, University of New South Wales (UNSW), with conjoint appointments at Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA) and the UNSW Ageing Futures Institute. Her research program integrates clinical and epidemiological approaches to study neuropsychiatric symptoms (NPS) and Mild Behavioral Impairment (MBI) in aging and dementia.

Her work focuses on non-cognitive early markers of dementia, including:
- Development of the MBI Checklist (translated into >20 languages)

- Person-centered interventions for BPSD in residential care
- Population-based studies of dementia risk factors
