Dr. Melissa Derechailo is an Instructor in the Department of Music at Wayne State College. She teaches horn, music history, music theatre history, and music industry. Previously, she taught in public schools in Asheville, NC, and was a horn lecturer at Converse College. She maintains active performance roles with groups like the Sioux City Symphony and A Touch of Brass. Derechailo also serves as theatre manager for the Ley and Ramsey theatres, combining her music and theatre passions. She holds a DMA in Horn Performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, an M.M. from Baylor University, and a BME from The College of New Jersey.
