Associate Professor Melinda Carrington is a Health Services Researcher and Future Leader Fellow of the National Heart Foundation. She is affiliated with the Baker Department of Cardiometabolic Health at the University of Melbourne and serves as an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at Monash University and Adjunct Professor at Torrens University.

Her research focuses on community-based interventions for cardiovascular and metabolic disease prevention, with an emphasis on eHealth resources, nurse-led care, and addressing disparities in regional communities, low socio-economic groups, and Indigenous Australian populations. Recent work explores integrated care models to improve outcomes for chronic heart disease and diabetes.
Notable awards include multiple European Society of Cardiology Late Breaking Science Awards and American Heart Association recognitions. She has held competitive fellowships, including NHMRC Career Development Fellowships.
Melinda leads a dedicated research team at the Baker Institute, with ongoing collaborations across universities and healthcare sectors to advance cardiometabolic health equity.
