Bing Wang is a world-leading researcher in heart failure and cardiorenal syndrome, with a focus on identifying novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets. His research spans molecular cell biology, protein biochemistry, pharmacology, and drug development. He investigates the pathophysiology of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), inflammatory mechanisms in cardiovascular disease, and renal-cardiac crosstalk. His expertise also includes biomarker validation and preclinical drug testing.
His recent publications highlight a strong trend in translational cardiovascular research, integrating clinical trials, preclinical models, and molecular analysis. Key themes include myocardial infarction healing, fibrosis modulation, sympathetic nervous system dysregulation in HFpEF, and interorgan communication. These works are published in high-impact journals such as Circulation Research, European Heart Journal, and JACC: Basic to Translational Science.
Scientific Funding and Grants:
- National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC)
- Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF)
- National Heart Fund (NHF)
Wang has been a Chief or Associate Investigator on multiple funded projects, including the STAREE Heart Study and development of eHealth interventions for chronic disease. He has published over 110 papers and holds a patent related to bone biomarkers. His research contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals in health and well-being. He leads a research laboratory and mentors graduate students, demonstrating strong academic leadership.
Research Labs and Collaborations:
