Melanie Wall's research focuses on printmaking with particular emphasis on silkscreen techniques, handmade paper, and mixed media approaches. Her work explores themes of transience in residential spaces, material culture, and the traces left behind by human habitation. She creates art using collages of drawings, photo documentation, and handmade paper, often incorporating recycled fibers and locally sourced plants. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges fine art, environmental studies, and social commentary, examining how everyday objects tell stories about human lives and transitions.
Wall's artistic practice demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainable materials and processes, with particular attention to how discarded items and abandoned spaces communicate narratives about consumption, migration, and cultural shifts. Her recent work has examined rental properties, garbage day assemblages, and the remnants left behind during life transitions.
Melanie Wall is affiliated with professional organizations including the Mid America Print Council (MAPC), where she served on the board from 2022-2024, and the Southern Graphics Council International (SGCI).

Her work has been exhibited in over one hundred exhibitions across the United States, Canada, Germany, Turkey, Portugal, Australia, Italy, and Japan. Wall's artistic process often involves creating visual histories of local landscapes through the remnants of tenants, with imagery void of people but rich with narrative through discarded objects, furniture left on lawns, and weekly waste patterns.
Melanie Wall maintains an active studio practice documented on her website at https://www.mrobynwall.com, where she showcases her portfolio and artistic process.
