Catherine M. Chauvin is an Associate Professor of Art—Printmaking at the University of Denver, affiliated with the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of Art and Art History. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from Syracuse University and a Tamarind Master Printer Certificate from the University of New Mexico. Her creative research focuses on environmental themes, particularly human interaction with landscapes, using lithography, drawing, and collaborative printmaking. Chauvin has held leadership roles, including Director of the School of Art & Art History (2015–2019) and has been a visiting artist at institutions like Arizona State University and the University of Louisiana, Lafayette.

She has contributed to portfolios like Threshold and Call to the Wilds, emphasizing collaborative and environmental themes.
Chauvin’s academic service includes roles in curriculum development, grant writing, and leadership in printmaking associations. She has organized conferences, curated exhibitions, and served as a juror for regional and national printmaking competitions. Her work is part of collections at the Hilliard Art Museum and the University of Alberta’s Print Study Collection.
