Jennifer Scheuer is an Assistant Professor in the Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance at Purdue University, specializing in Art and Design. She bridges traditional printmaking with contemporary themes and practices.
Education:
- MFA in Studio Art: Printmaking Concentration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville
- BFA in Studio Art from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a minor in Art History
- Professional Printer Training Program at the Tamarind Institute, University of New Mexico
Research Interests:
Her work focuses on the intersections of the human body, history, gender, spirituality, and medicine, particularly through the lens of the Doctrine of Signatures, which explores visual connections reflecting diverse knowledge systems. She also investigates digital fabrication as a tool for printmaking, engages with campus collections, and studies the history of printmaking. Scheuer exhibits nationally and internationally, with artist-in-residence experiences across five countries.
