Dr. Melanie McCoskey is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the University of Akron's George W. Daverio School of Accountancy. She holds a PhD and BBA from the University of Georgia and is a former CPA.
Research specializes in partnership tax, college savings plans (Section 529), and reasonable compensation disputes. Recent work addresses COVID-19 tax implications and SALT limitations.
Teaching focuses on tax courses, including Contemporary Federal Taxation and Tax Research. Coordinates the VITA Tax Clinic.
