Drew Ippoliti is an Associate Professor of Instruction and Coordinator of Ceramics at the Mary Schiller Myers School of Art, University of Akron. His research explores the intersection of ceramics with cultural and craft traditions, examining how material practices reflect societal patterns. As a Senior Visiting Lecturer at Central Academy of Fine Art in Beijing and Visiting Faculty at Sheridan College, he has developed international academic collaborations.
Research interests focus on:
- Ceramic materiality and cultural narratives
- Cross-disciplinary craft methodologies
- Global artistic traditions and contemporary practice
Awards include prestigious fellowships from the Fulbright Program, China Ministry of Education, and Taiwan Ministry of Education. His exhibitions span Denmark, Holland, China, Taiwan, and Korea, with works in public and private collections worldwide.
