Meghen Jones is Associate Professor of Art History at Alfred University's School of Art and Design, specializing in Japanese art and ceramics from 1868 to the present, with expertise in global ceramic flows and craft theory. She teaches courses ranging from introductory material culture to graduate seminars on ceramic history.

Her research examines modern Japanese ceramics through lenses of cultural identity, US-Japan relations, and postwar shifts in craft theory. Recent projects include co-editing Ceramics and Modernity in Japan (2020) and curating the Path of the Teabowl exhibition at Alfred Ceramic Art Museum. Awards include dual Faculty Scholar Awards (2022-2023) and fellowships from Japan Foundation and Fulbright.
Key publications analyze National Treasure tea bowls as cultural icons, Hamada Shōji's transnational influence, and ceramic form's negotiation between tradition and modernity. She has served in administrative roles including Art History Division Chair and Director of Global Studies, currently co-chairing Middle States Commission re-accreditation efforts.
