Seung Yeon Sang

Dr. Seung Yeon Sang is a Visiting Researcher at the Autonomous University of Barcelona's Department of Translation, Interpreting, and East Asian Studies. She holds a PhD from Boston University and previously served as the Henderson Curatorial Fellow in East Asian Art at the Harvard Art Museums (2016–2018). Her research focuses on Japanese and Korean ceramics, including historical and contemporary practices, as well as the Japanese tea arts (chanoyu). She co-curated a virtual exhibition on Korean ceramics in Japan post-Imjin War as part of the Aftermath project, funded by the European Research Council (ERC) under Horizon 2020 (Grant No. 758347).

Dr. Sang has received prestigious fellowships from institutions including the Korea Foundation, Japan Foundation, and the Sainsbury Institute. Her work bridges art history, material culture, and cross-cultural exchanges in East Asia. Collaborations include projects with the UAB's Aftermath of the East Asian War initiative and the Biblioteca d’Humanitats.
