معرفی
Dr Maximilian Droellner is an Adjunct Research Fellow at Curtin University's School of Earth and Planetary Sciences (EPS) within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. He concurrently holds a Lecturer position at the University of Göttingen. His research focuses on Geochronology, Isotope Geochemistry, Sedimentology, and Surface Processes, with a particular emphasis on continental-scale sediment routing, detrital mineral analysis, and cryptic geological histories. He has received notable awards including the Krishna & Pamela Sappal Prize (2023) and the Heitfeld Award (University of Münster).
Education: Holds BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees. His professional trajectory includes roles at Curtin University (Research Associate, Technical Assistant, Sessional Academic) and earlier research roles at the University of Münster. He is affiliated with the Timescales of Mineral Systems Group and actively contributes to teaching across multiple disciplines including Science and Engineering.
Research Themes: Explores continental erosion dynamics, provenance tracking via detrital minerals, and integrating multi-proxy geochronology techniques. His 2025 work on the Yellow River's Cenozoic evolution showcases interdisciplinary approaches to fluvial systems and climate-landscape interactions.
Awards: Highlights include the
- Research Team Award (Curtin University)
- Early Career Scientist poster award (International Meeting of Sedimentology)
Labs/Teams: Core member of the Timescales of Mineral Systems Group, focusing on mineral systems and continental-scale processes.
