Dr. Anthony Clarke is a Researcher at Curtin University, affiliated with the School of Earth and Planetary Sciences within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. He holds a portfolio role in the Office of the Provost and is based at the Curtin Perth Campus in Room 101 of the Physical Sciences Building. His research focuses on geochronology, provenance analysis, tectonic history, and archaeological geology, with a particular emphasis on detrital mineral studies and paleontological contexts.
Clarke's work spans geological investigations across diverse regions, including studies on the provenance of Stonehenge's Altar Stone, Paleoproterozoic rifting in the Yilgarn Craton, and Ediacaran fossil assemblages. His methodologies often integrate zircon and apatite geochronology to address questions about crustal evolution, tectonic processes, and environmental changes. While no formal awards are listed, his contributions to understanding continental dynamics and archaeological geology are evident through his active publication record.
Teaching engagements include involvement with the Centre for Aboriginal Studies, Business and Law, Health Sciences, Humanities, and Science and Engineering departments. Clarke's research is conducted within the 'Timescales of Mineral Systems' team, reflecting his collaborative approach to geological inquiry.
