Maurice Göldner

Maurice Göldner is Professor at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences in the School of Design, serving as Program Director for the Bachelor's program in Communication Design and Member of the Faculty Council for Design. His academic leadership shapes the communication design curriculum with emphasis on typographic excellence.

He studied communication design at the University of Art and Design Halle (Saale) and specialized in book art/graphic design with focus on \"Typography in the field of digital media\" at the Leipzig Academy of Visual Arts. This foundation bridges traditional craftsmanship with digital innovation.

Professor Göldner's research centers on typographic systems for digital environments, exploring how historical type design principles can inform contemporary screen-based communication. His work investigates legibility, expressive type behavior in motion graphics, and computational approaches to type design. He maintains active development of typefaces that solve specific communication challenges in digital media contexts.

His internationally recognized typeface designs including Meran (2008), Stan (2012), StandingType (2012), and Rando (2016) demonstrate exceptional craftsmanship and conceptual depth:
