Maureen Konkle is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of Missouri, affiliated with the College of Arts and Science. Her research focuses on settler colonialism, Indigenous intellectual history, and 19th-century Native American literature. She holds a PhD from the University of Minnesota (1997).

Earlier works like Writing Indian Nations (2004) analyze Native intellectual contributions to historical discourse.
