Matthew Williams serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Seattle University School of Law while concurrently holding a judgeship on the King County Superior Court since January 2017, following six years as a District Court Judge in King County.

His academic work centers on Trial Advocacy and Rule of Law implementation, with extensive field experience in Anti-Corruption initiatives across emerging democracies. He directs national trial training programs and develops curricula for legal professionals through the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and Emory Law School's programs.
Professional engagements include training judges, prosecutors, and law enforcement personnel throughout the United States, alongside international Rule of Law missions in Central Asia, South America, Africa, the Middle East, and former Soviet Republics.
Additional leadership roles encompass Supervising Assistant City Attorney for Seattle, Managing Attorney in Tacoma, General Manager at a national insurance carrier, Special Disciplinary Counsel for the Washington State Bar Association, and Trustee of the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers.
Personal pursuits include Black Belt instruction in Tae Kwon Do and aviation with over 1,000 pilot-in-command hours.
