Dean Lum serves as an Adjunct Professor at Seattle University School of Law and is a sitting Judge in King County Superior Court, assigned to the criminal department. He previously held roles as Chief Civil Judge and Chief Judge at the Maleng Regional Justice Center. A Seattle native, Lum graduated from Franklin High School, Pomona College (B.A., 1980), and the University of Washington School of Law (J.D., 1983).

Professional Contributions: Lum has held leadership roles in the Asian Bar Association of Washington, the Washington State Judicial College (Past Dean), and the ABA Commission on Immigration. He chairs National Adoption Day in King County and serves on the President’s Minority Advisory Committee at the University of Washington.
