Matt Piszczek is an Associate Professor of Management at Wayne State University's Mike Ilitch School of Business, where he has been teaching since 2017 after previously serving on the faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. His academic home is within the Management department of the Mike Ilitch School of Business, where he holds a full-time faculty position.
His educational background includes a comprehensive academic journey at Michigan State University, where he earned a B.S. in Psychology with an additional major in Linguistics, followed by a Master's in Human Resources and Labor Relations, and ultimately a Ph.D. in Industrial Relations and Human Resources.
Piszczek's research focuses on critical contemporary workplace issues, particularly work-life balance, workforce aging, remote work implications, diversity/equity/inclusion, and commuting dynamics. His work examines how organizational policies affect employees across different life stages and circumstances, with special attention to boundary management between work and personal life. His research employs both quantitative and qualitative methodologies to explore these complex workplace phenomena.
His publication record demonstrates consistent scholarly output with recent articles appearing in top-tier journals including Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, and Work, Aging & Retirement.
