Matthew Holmes-Dallimore is an Associate Professor of Interior Design at VCUarts Qatar, part of Virginia Commonwealth University. His expertise spans retail design, branded environments, and multidisciplinary design education. He joined VCUarts Qatar in 2004, integrating industry experience into teaching through real-world projects. Holmes-Dallimore holds an MA in Interior Design from Middlesex University (1991-1992), a BA from Middlesex Polytechnic (1987-1991), and a foundation in Three-Dimensional Design from Ravensbourne College (1986-1987).
His research focuses on educational collaborations, interdisciplinary design, and branded environments. He has organized exhibitions such as Retail Without Walls: Kiosk Culture at Mathaf Museum (2012) and The Concept of Al Majilis in Waqif Art Centre (2009). Holmes-Dallimore has secured multiple grants, including recurring Faculty Research Grants from VCU Qatar (2008–2012) and a Qatar National Research Fund grant (2008).
He actively presents at international conferences, including recent talks at the 5th International Conference on New Trends in Teaching and Education (2022) and SPACE International Conference (2022). His work emphasizes bridging academic and industry practices through innovative pedagogy and collaborative projects.
