Maryann Hardy is Professor of Radiography and Imaging Practice Research at the School of Allied Health Professions & Midwifery within the Faculty of Health Studies at the University of Bradford. She also holds an honorary professor position at the University of Southern Denmark.
Her research focuses on advancing radiographic practice with an emphasis on:
- Medical imaging technologies and applications
- Patient-centered care models in diagnostic settings
- Integration of new technologies in radiography practice
- Improving patient outcomes through enhanced imaging services
Professor Hardy is a widely published researcher, member of the UK Society and College of Radiographers, Fellow of the British Institute of Radiology, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and registered diagnostic radiographer with the HCPC regulatory body. She participates in numerous national and international professional bodies.
Her recent research funding includes:
- 2018 ISRRT Chesney Award (£5,000) for pediatric urolithiasis imaging research
- 2018 CoRIPS Research Awards totaling over £15,000 for virtual grid technology and patient-centered care measurement
- 2016 NIHR grant (£249,925) for the MotiVar weight loss project
- 2015 HEE grant (£75,000) for CT simulation program development
She views imaging as an essential diagnostic and treatment evaluation service across care management pathways and is committed to enhancing radiographic practice through technological innovation and improved professional engagement.
