Dr Marta Wojciechowska is a Lecturer in Politics within the Department of Political Economy at King’s College London, part of the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. Her research focuses on democracy, inequality, and urban governance, with interdisciplinary approaches combining normative theory and public policy analysis.
She holds a PhD in Government from the London School of Economics (2020) and previously served as a postdoctoral research associate at King’s and an LSE Fellow. Her ESRC-funded postdoctoral project addressed 'Coping with Complexity and Urban Inequality in Mega-city Governance.' She is also a member of the American Political Science Association’s Critical Policy Studies Group.

Her research explores participatory and deliberative democracy, emphasizing intersectional and emancipatory frameworks. Key themes include democratic innovations, urban inequality, and responses to crises like the cost-of-living crisis. She has published widely in journals like Political Studies, Political Geography, and Democratization.
Her recent articles analyze participatory governance through assemblage theory, cost-of-living crisis impacts on mental health, and democratic theory in public administration. She leads the INSPIRE project (2024–2027), funded by TSB, focusing on inclusive participatory spaces.
Her work contributes to policy-relevant outputs, such as reports on London’s pandemic governance and cost-of-living solutions. She collaborates with institutions like the House of Lords Constitution Committee and the Centre for British Democracy.
