Markus Ringnér serves as a senior bioinformatician at the National Bioinformatics Infrastructure Sweden (NBIS), which operates as the SciLifeLab Bioinformatics Platform. His position is housed within the local node at Lund University's Department of Biology. He leads bioinformatics long-term support initiatives focused on providing advanced computational support for nationally prioritized research projects, delivering national and regional training workshops, and fostering bioinformatics networking across Sweden.
His research spans medical, evolutionary, ecological, and environmental genomics, with particular emphasis on neurodegenerative diseases, cancer genomics, and epigenetic mechanisms. His work integrates computational approaches with biological discovery across multiple domains:
