Marko Milovanovic

Marko Milovanovic is an architect, artist, and journalist currently teaching at the Royal College of Art (RCA) in the School of Architecture. He also leads an MArchD design studio at Oxford Brookes University and an undergraduate studio at the Architectural Association School of Architecture. His professional background spans architecture, art, journalism, and education across multiple prestigious institutions.

Marko graduated from the Architectural Association School of Architecture. His architectural career includes work on award-winning cultural, commercial, and healthcare projects, most notably the Sterling Prize Nominated 100 Liverpool Street with Hopkins Architects. His expertise encompasses a wide range of areas including 3D modelling & visualisation, Art & curating, Creative industries, Critical practice, and Sustainable society.

Marko's research and practice revolve around cross-disciplinary dialogues, time-based media, and craft, framed within wider phenomenological and metaphysical discourses. His work bridges theoretical exploration with practical application, connecting architecture with digital futures, emerging technologies, and inclusive design principles. His approach integrates healthcare, ageing, wellbeing considerations with risk, resilience, and security infrastructure concerns.

Marko has established himself as an influential interdisciplinary figure through multiple ventures. Since 2008, he has written extensively for major Serbian newspapers as a journalist. In 2018, he curated AA Dialogues at the Architectural Association, interviewing prominent figures including Wolfgang Tillmans, Es Devlin, and Yinka Shonibare. In 2021, he founded the educational platform 'Free School Of,' which celebrates conversation as a fundamental form of knowledge, engaging emerging and established artists, architects, curators, and educators. He is also the founder of Mylomark, a knowledge and space production practice that reflects his commitment to innovative knowledge dissemination.
