Mark Miller is a Professor of Church Music at Drew Theological School, where he has served as Director of Craig Chapel and Composer in Residence since 1994. A lifelong United Methodist, he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music from Yale University and Master of Music in Organ Performance from The Juilliard School. Miller was promoted to full professor in 2021, the same year he received the Theological School Teacher of the Year award.
As a composer and music educator, Miller's work bridges theological studies with sacred music practices. He actively directs the Seminary and Pan-African Choirs at Drew while serving as Minister of Music at Christ Church in Summit, New Jersey. His leadership in virtual worship during the pandemic redefined how communities engage in synchronous spiritual practices, expanding Drew's reach beyond geographical boundaries.
